Why I Built a Collection Tracking App

I collect board games, comics, and retro gaming hardware — primarily Nintendo. My spouse collects vintage Disney books. After realizing that existing specialty platforms like BoardGameGeek didn't cover all our collecting needs, I went looking for a unified solution.

The spreadsheet problem

I initially tracked my collections using spreadsheets, but quickly found them limiting. Spreadsheets aren't on your phone in a usable form. They don't have images. Managing multiple spreadsheets across different collection types proved cumbersome and difficult to maintain.

Building it myself

Development began in 2023 with a beta launch in 2024. This is a solo-developer project, not a venture-backed startup. After a slower 2025, I resumed active development in 2026 to make the platform production-ready.

What makes it different

Custom fields let you track exactly what matters to your collection. AutoFill pulls information from sources like BoardGameGeek and Open Library. You can share collections with the community or keep them private. One platform for all your collections.

Where it is today

The service remains free with no credit card requirement or trial limitations. I continue actively building and always welcome feedback.
